A REVIVAL of Pauline
Macauley’s psychological drama, The Creeper
starring veteran actor Ian Richardson, will run
for a limited 12-week season – from February 9,
2006 (previews from February 7) – at London’s
Playhouse Theatre.
Richardson will play Edward Kimberley, an
eccentric member of the landed gentry, whose
home is upset by the arrival of a young
opportunist with a shady past….
Richardson was last seen in the West End in
1997, in The Magistrate at the Savoy. His many
credits for the Royal Shakespeare Company
include The Hollow Crown alongside Sir Derek
Jacobi, Sir Donald Sinden and Dame Diana Rigg.
His film and TV credits are too numerous to
mention although one of his most memorable
performances was as ‘Tailor’ in the BBC
adaptation Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
Joining him in the cast of The Creeper will be
Oliver Dimsdale, Alan Cox, Robert Styles and
Harry Towb.
Director Bill Bryden’s revival was first seen at
the Theatre Royal Windsor in August 2005 and can
be seen in Cambridge (for one week from January
23, 2006) and Malvern (from January 30, 2006,
again for one week only) prior to its West End
transfer.
