Randle P. McMurphy: the
ultimate free spirit. Lover of life, liquor and girls...
The play is set in a US psychiatric hospital in the
early 1960’s. Into this world walks RP McMurphy, a
larger than life gambler who fakes psychosis in order to
avoid the drudgery of a working gaol.
The cast of eccentrics live out their banal routines
watched by the tyrannical Nurse Ratched, in constant
fear of the brutal treatment dealt out in the
“Shock-Shop”. McMurphy vows to take on the institution,
risking losing the respect of his inmates, his life and
chance of freedom.
